Pretty soon i'm gonna add some black tips on my blonde mohawk and I'm wondering how to make them all an even length. I don't want there to be drastic size differences in the line of black when I put my hair up. How do I make the color on the tips all the same length all around?

Depending on how long your Mohawk is the technique used is different. If it is 3-4 inches long you want to stand it all up and do a shoe shine. If it is longer than that I would recommend going to have it done. Colour will bleed down and is impossible to make a straight line on. The line will always be different depending on where each hair is place each day.

This is so much easier if you have help.....so get help if you can!!
There's a trick where you take a heavy bathing cap (for swimming) and cut tiny scattered holes in it with scissors. Pull strands of hair evenly through these holes, which can take lots of patience, until you pull through the tips evenly that you want to color. The bathing cap acts as a barrier for the color. Just make sure to use very small holes, don't cut them too big. Get an applicator brush to apply color, no matter what kind you are using. (Get an applicator at Sally's or other beauty supply for just a couple bucks.)
Since you only have a mohawk, maybe you could try separating your hair into tiny ponytails with tiny rubber bands, wrapping them super tight and using 2 or 3 on each ponytail. Make sure the rubber bands are of even height before you color. Apply color with an applicator brush to help prevent dripping (this is why the bathing cap is better) but the rubber will again work as a barrier against the color. When you wash your hair after coloring, put your head upside down!! and take your time.
