Hair dying tips?

ok, so my hair is naturally a dirty blonde color and right now i have it dyed just a plain blonde. i am going to dye it a really really blonde color this week. i also have pretty pale skin. are there any rules of thumb regarding what colors to dye or not dye my hair with my pale skin?

Use 2 kits. One a light "champagne" color, and one "lightest GOLDEN blonde - not a real big difference in the colors. (You'll have to use a high # lift, like 30 or 40, or one especially for very light blondes, probably NOT the bottles in the kit - they're not strong enough - go to someplace like sally's).

Prepare the two colors at the exact same time and then just use your fingers to pick up some of each and go all through, all over your head. Timing is important. So is the experiment directions!

Using the 2 colors will give you some dimension and keep your hair from looking like it was ALL painted with the same "blonde paint" and look flat.

If your hair is natural "dirty blonde", does it ever seem to go too yellowy or brassy when lightened? If so, get so "Red Color Corrector drops" to add to the colors when you mix them up.

Another thing: if you've colored your hair much, or if it's very dry or damaged, I say, "STOP! DON'T DO IT YOURSELF!"

Give in and go to an experienced pro. to do it for you -- it'll cost a lot more, (about $75 - $100.00, more or less, depending on where you live) but if yours is dry or damaged already, coloring it again may FRY it - you will cry, I promise -been-there-done-that.

And, THEN, you still have to go get it repaired anyway.

Don't go black unless you're goth, I suppose. And ultra blonde looks good on almost no one...I guess if you want your hair the same color as your skin...go for it. It's your hair, as long as it doesn't look disgusting.

You can do almost any color. Consider your eyebrows if you go very pale. Dye them a compatible color.

The lighter your hair the more tan your skin will look. Just make sure its not a white kind of color I hate when blondes do that.
