Waiting for hair to grow is frustrating! Hair typically grows 1/4-1/2 inch a month. Resist the urge to trim as that would take even longer.
In the meantime, try using headbands
in front to make it look better. Make it your "look" for a couple of months and it will pay off later. Make sure your diet is healthy and take your vitamins. Good luck! And don't worry too much, it'll grow!

I would of never done the entire head. That looks fake especially on a guy. You need both high and low lights to balance out what natural blond looks like. Personally I would head to a salon at this point. The nape and back need more of the low lights. The front needs to really be broken up with the highlights. Don't just alternate between colors all over yours head. Best of luck.

First of all what type of hair does she have? Also, what color is her hair and what color do you want the highlights to be? Once you have decided the color you have to do a strand test. Cut a piece of her hair from under her hair (base of neck) where it won't show. Mix up the hair color and put in on the piece of hair you cut. Wrap it in a piece of tinfoil and check it every 5 minutes. Once you have the color you want wash out the piece of hair. This way you know exactly how long to keep it on. I wouldn't use a bleach product because that can turn hair orange if you don't know how to use it. Pick a hair color that is the lightest blonde possible. Anything Loreal is the best brand. You can count on it. Bleaching should only be done by a professional. Just remember do your strand test. You can buy a highlighting cap separately at Walmart or Shopper's Drug Mart. You can buy a highlighting kit with the cap and everything you will need that is hair color and not bleach. Just make sure that the hair color says permanent on the box. Like I said Loreal is the best brand.

Don't use a blow dryer everyday, and 10 minutes before you wash your hair put sunsilk conditioner and then wash it out right when you get in. This makes your hair silky and protects it.

spray a little leave in conditioner on the bottom half of the strands you are highlighting beforehand..reason being, lower hair has been processed more and is more damaged the the newer hair on the top half..plus it will help the strands color evenly.

I had curly hair in a straight hair world, before straightening irons and large rollers. I used an ironing board, I used Orange juice cans and dipty-do hair gel (only kind they had then. I lived in NY and I tried to fight the humidity. It was a lot of work and as lot of frustration. In the end the curls won.

Get a body wave [perm] from your stylist. Perms can be relaxed for just a little shape or very curly. Done correctly they look very natural.
My hair is naturally wavy but a great way which has been used by models before (and me) is to wash your hair, plait it into two plaits and go to bed (leave your hair wet). When you wake up take out the plaits and put some wax hold in your hair (if you have completley straight hair naturally).

First off....people say get perms. I wouldn't do this.
My hair was JUST like yours it seems, so I wanted a perm. Now it's poofy, gets frizzy, and it's hideous. Oh yeah it's wavy... I just WISH it was still straight. So I wouldn't recommend a perm...cause even after the curl effect goes away, the frizz and poofiness stays because perms are great damage to your hair.
So...I owuld suggest just buying mouse. Wet your WHOLE head in the morning....flip it over..towel scrunch it....then apply mouse and scrunch some more...then style.

My mom is a hair dresser and has been for over 25 years. She's been watching her clients hair for a long time. She has lots of repeat customers. She told me that some people believe in these moon phase theories. She says some people claim that when you get your hair cut when the moon is in a certain stage the hair grows faster. Other moon phases causes it to grow slower. She says she's been watching this for years, and she really sees a difference and that it's true. I'm not sure what phase the moon has to be in though. You might want to look into that.

i have moderately thick, wavy/curly hair a couple inches below my shoulders. when i try to blow out my hair it gets really poofy and flippy. i just want it to be nice and sleek from blowing it out. 1. when you was your hair try to wash you cold water or as cold as you can take it.
2. divide you hair in four sections. down the middle and then each section divide in two.
3. start at the bottom. from each section take a little bit of hair and start with that and work your way up. start at the root and as your hair dries keep going down. if by the time you are almost done your hair dries, wet it a little bit so it doesn't get frizzy.
this would take you about 1hr.

I have struggled with this problem since birth :-) However, I have finally found a solution to the frizzy hair problem.
I also tried the "healthy hair approach" and didn't use gel, but let me tell you...It is IMPOSSIBLE to have curly hair that is not frizzy without using gel.
**I get a lot of compliments on my hair so apparently what I have been doing really works.
Here are the steps to take to get nonfrizzy curly hair:
1. ALWAYS use a conditioner...any of the Pantene conditioners work well.
2. After combing out your hair with a wide-toothed comb use hair gel (LA Looks #8 in the green bottle). After applying the gel, comb it out again. Then, dry your hair a little by scrunching it in a towel.
3. Use a difusser and blow dry your hair completely. I just turn my head downwards and let all of my hair rest in the top of the diffuser. By doing this, it gets scrunched and I can read and not have to worry about scrunching it with my hands
4. After your hair has dried, use the wide-toothed comb to kind of fluff your hair (don't comb through it after it has dried because it will become mega frizzed!)
5. Apply another coat of LA Looks gel (THIS IS ESSENTIAL) without the extra coat of gel your hair will become frizzy again :-%26gt;
As I'm saving for my college education I can't afford a hairdresser or anything but I can probably spare $20 or so for some good styling products. I was hoping to get some advice.....to start with, I plan on wearing a tiara but am undecided on leaving my hair all up or half up/half down. Get some Frizz-ease Serum (you can get it at WalMart). Also, figure out what you are going to do with your hair and practice styling it at least two days before the prom! DO NOT wait until the day of prom to decide what to do and try doing it!!!
After you wash and condition your hair, while it is still wet, you need to put some type of styling product in it - gel, mousse or spray. I think the Frizz-ease people have some new products, so look on the shelves when you go to the store.
Also, consider buying a magazine (any of the teen magazines right now) that have good hairstyle photos so you can get some ideas. You might also look online for "prom hairstyles" to get ideas.

For straight hair- go to Target or Walmart and get a hair relaxer. Its the one with a black model on the cover $7 bucks. And it REALLY works! My boyfriend has nappy long curly hair and we tried it on him- it worked!
ightened, seperate a section from your face (like your going to cut your bangs) rubberband that section off. Now with the rest of your hair put it up in a high PONYTAIL(cheerleader high) Then with sectioned off hair rat it out for volume. Comb it out a little and pin it back with bobby pins-pompadour style. i would say wear your hair half up and half down, it would probably look best with a strapless dress and usually updo's are really tight and i don't like the look of most of them, they make your head look odd shaped...and that's just about the last thing you want after having to get all those pictures taken. find some products to put the "curl" back in your curly hair (shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner to help the breaking and dryness and leave-in styling product to bring curls back to life and reduce frizz) or straighten it or straighten it and then make sprirals with a spiral curler (conair has a good one you can get for like $20) don't blow dry your hair and make sure that when you rinse out conditioner you use cold water. try using products from matrix, catwalk, redken, garnier fructis, TIGI (curls rock). make sure to practice your hairstyle a few times before the big night! good luck!

The only advice I can give you is let the curling iron get super hot, and then hold your hair in it for a loooong time. I have naturally thin, straight hair, and it's hard to style as well. For me, it takes forever to do my hair into curls.

I usually dont have much of a problem with this cuz my hair is relatively easy to curl, but these tips might help!!!
1.) strighten it first
2.) use some mousse and brush it out
3.) curl your hair using a hot curling iron and hold it for a little
longer but not too long!!!
4.) spritz on some hairspray and try not to run around so it wont fall out :)
or you could spray on a lot of hairspray then sleep in curlers if that doesn't work good, try wetting your hair with water and frizz ease, putting in curlers, steaming it (there's a special shower cap like thing that steams it for you) for about half an hour and then blow drying it before you take out the curlers.
If all fails, try getting a perm. i got one last year and it stayed in for about half a year!!!

My hair never stays curly, but I finally found a product that does. I don't have it anymore, otherwise I'd tell you what it was called. But Sally's has the greatest products, and you can ask the workers there about the best products. The products there are those that stylists use in salons, so you know that they're good quality and actually work.
I think that a perm could be the only answer for you even if you have some natural curl. But before you get the perm to make sure it is what you want you could roll all of your hair in perm rods and let it dry and this would give you an idea as to how it would look. Not exactly though but a bit of an idea. My hair was straight and stringy and would never hold a hot iron curl for more than a few hours, even roller sets tend to fall out, so I got a spiral perm and love it. I can leave it in spiral curls or blow it out a bit and just have loose waves, set it and have really sexy large curls that last all day and into the evening. If you get a perm ask around and get a stylist that will do a great job. Good luck.
Use a small 1" curling iron (don't straighten it before hand or it won't curl because you already straightened it). you can put hairspray in beforehand and then curl it or you can curl it then pin the curl and after it's cooled take it out and use hairspray. I have really thick hair also (my stylist says I have 600 pounds ;-]) and this seems to work for me but it takes a long time. THE RESULT IS WELL WORTH IT!

My grandmother told me to smear mayonnaise liberally into my hair, wrap my head with plastic wrap and a towel for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. It's so much better that conditioner and a lot cheaper, too.

Mix two tablespoons of olive oil and one tablespoon of honey. Heat it in the microwave until it's hot, but not so hot that'll burn your scalp. To answer your question, the best way to cure dry and frizzy tips is to get a trim. However, there are kinds of shampoos and conditioners that are made for dry and frizzy hair like herbal essences, pantene, or many others that will make your hair silky. I do not know of any homemade recipes for silky hair though. I don't think that there is a way to make you hair completely frizz free.

I know that Folic Acid makes both your hair and nails grow very quickly (ask any pregnant woman who's been on folic acid!). As far as it being safe or not, as long as your not overdosing on the product you should be fine.

okay. the only way to lift the brown out of your hair is to bleach it. "normal" people shouldn't bleach their hair at home more than one-two shades. so having lighter hair is a good thing for you.
get a bleaching kit, not blonde hair dye, because that isn't going to lift the color out of your hair. I don't bleach my own hair often so I'm not sure the best brands. Try going to Sally's and asking them.
if your hair has any red tones in it at all you're going to have to get some toner, also.
so go home and bleach the section that you want blonde and then deep condition it, cause bleach is harsh. ask yourself if it is as light as you want, if not bleach it again in a week (or maybe 3 days if you're impatient .. but condition it a LOT).
once it's as light as you want, you want to get rid of all the oranginess/brassiness. so tone it. and deep condition it again. keep toning until it's the pretty blonde shade you desire. and i can't stress this enough: CONDITION CONDITION CONDITION.

You would be far better off to find a reasonably priced salon and go in for a trim every three months or so. If you cut your own hair and don't like the results - which is entirely likely - you will end up having to pay for a cut anyway to put it right!
If you've never done it before, I don't think going for an all out drastic new haircut would be a good idea. Since I'm not professional, I trim the ends once in a while, but I wouldn't dare try to cut my own hair because I can't see in the back of my head. So here's my suggestion: if you have split ends, great, trim them. But if you want a new hair cut, you can either go to a cheaper hair salon (like SuperCuts, HeadCutters or Lemon Tree), or you can try to see if you can find a stylist in training. If you have a BOCES center near you, that'd be perfect. These stylists only charge half price or less and they are supervised, so there's a very minimal chance of them messing up.

Real indie-rock hair, I LOVE it!!!! The best thing is that no body believes that I cut it myself, perhaps they are hinting that Edward Scissorhands did it!!! Go into boots, buy a pair of their hair dressing/cutting scissors for about 鎷?, a pair of their layering scissors (sold as thinning scissors) about 鎷? and if you want a choopy look like me, get a funny looking razor in the same stand/section for about 鎷?. That comes to about 鎷?0, they last for years!!!!! My short layered cost 鎷?0 five years ago and now I do it for FREE!!!! I also recently bought a book about cutting your own hair, gives styling and cutting advice and comes with free scissors and clips!!

In the light/outside my hair is a bright red / brighter burgundy. When indoors my hair is a darker tone of burgundy. I have green eyes with gold in them and i'm very pale. Bright, pale, green gold.
Foundation: Avoid pink and olive tones.. Foundation bases with pink tones make your face look more pink than it naturally is and olive tones make you look sickly. Pick a neutral, biege-like foundation. A little yellow is ok, but only a little.
Blush: Pick soft pinks and warm shades of blush to give yourself a healthy glow. If you like bronzer, use it lightly.
Eyeshadow: Neutral is natural. Stick with neutral shades of eyeshadow to look casual yet polished. Light and mid-browns, champages, rich chocolates are best. Neutral and light pinks are also a good choice. For a more dramatic look, plums, greens, and blue shades.
Eyeliner: Red-brown or dark brown are best for both eyeliner and mascara, though it depends on your shade of red hair. Strawberry blondes should always stick with light browns, but darker redheads can get away with black.
Lipstick: Nude shades or vibrant ones. Pale or dark pinks and browns are always good choices, but don't be shy to go bold with a dark red or plum. Do avoid red-orange shades, like peach.

You said that you were pale so I'm assuming that you're fair skinned (it's alittle hard to tell with make up on from the pictures). But with that assumption. . .. Eyeshadow: Silver (you can use Jane Eye Zing Eyeshadow in HI Ho Silver) Cheeks should be done in a pink And Lips should be like an apricot color (something almost peach but with more of a hint of red/pink in it) or a gloss that adds a little color. (My favorite is Victoria Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Cherry Bomb but they have lots of colors, even an apricot color)
My tip for everyone:
*A good way to get rid of blemishes and make them appear less red is use Vaseline on your face over night. I know it feels gross but you'll be able to tell the difference in then morning. Plus your face will be so soft!

Just go ahead and experiment. If you can, borrow some eyeshadow from friends to test out different brands (hope you don't have too sensitive skin). Like I used to think green eyeshadow will never work for me, but I tried it and now I use it pretty often. Mix and match colours too, like you can try completely different colours for the top and bottom of your eyes. Sounds a little weird but it turns out pretty cool.

Put your up in a ponytail, but don't pull your hair all the way through the holder. It will look a lot better with long hair, because it will kinda look like your hair is wrapping around itself. And keep a little bit of bangs hanging out, it'll look really cute!

Do cut your hair, but only trim enough to get the split ends of every couple of months. People think that not cutting your hair will make it grow faster, but it will not. I tried not cutting it for 9 months and it only grew like 1 centimeter. You will get split ends and your hair will stop growing if you don't cut it. This will also help you have healthier hair. Also using a comb to go through your hair instead of a brush will make it thicker and pull out less hair. Biotin is said to tame unmanageable hair. I don't think that the shampoo brand really matters, but if you want it to grow faster then you probably want to use a shampoo that prevents split ends by healing damaged hair.

My sisters hair used to break off, but she started deep conditioning it. She would cover her hair in conditioner (not forgetting the roots), then put a shower cap on for 15 minutes. Wash it out then put in a leave in conditioner. It really helps. Also, put some olive oil on your hair and get under a dryer for like 10 mnutes.. It's helped mine grow

Washing, conditioning, and keeping your ends trimmed will help with growth. Also, try not to put too much heat on it; You can wrap it at night. As far as growing the hair, of course it won't grow overnight, but there a products that will help. Dr. Miracles has a stimulating growth oil that's good, and I've also heard that Wild Growth hair oil is good also, as well as Doo Gro. Aside from trimming it, regularly conditioning it, massaging your scalp, etc., one BIG thing you could/should do is be conscious of what you're putting on your hair/scalp. Are the products you're putting on your hair/scalp NOURISHING to your hair/scalp?
I read you said you already 'grease it'? In my opinion, that's a problem, depending on what you're using to do that. Probably 9 times out of ten, the "grease" you're using has petrolatum/mineral oil ("paraffinum liquidum") in it. This ingredient is nothing but a cheap filler (not only that, but it's a byproduct of gasoline) that provides a coating you may confuse for moisture, and it just clogs your scalp's pores. So you're not helping yourself, rather, hurting objective because you're preventing ingredients [that have the potential to promote hair growth] from being absorbed into your scalp. By the way, this goes for skin care products as well. Petrolatum/Mineral Oil (paraffinum liquidim) are no-no's if you want some TRUE results. Or else you'll just have a coating/film that you mistake for softness and moisture.
Do an ingredient check on the products you have to see if you're causing yourself some extra drama.
After that's out the way, proceed with the activities i mentioned above, making sure you give yourself a good deep conditioning every once in a while, and a protein treatment every so often as well, to strengthen weak, brittle hair.
Massage your scalp witha good oil (Like Hot Six Oil, or even your typical Extra Virgin Olive Oil) that does not have those bad ingredients and try to get a hold of some Rosemary essential oil to mix in with the oil. Rosemary stimulates hair growth.
And if you get them, you might want to lay off of chemical treatments for a while so your hair can rest/recover/rejuvenate as you learn how to take care of it all over again.

There are some things you can do to grow your hair.
1) Reduce the amount of heat you place on your hair.
2) Drink plenty of water

idk if u new but if u use a wide toothed comb instead of a brush when putting shampoo in ur hair, it avoids breakage.

Many people use gels...i personally do not like gel because it makes a mess, gets your hands all sticky, and you get gunk's in your hair....
but maybe you'll like gel...
there are types of sprays you can use
or if you don't like getting up earlier...
you can take a shower at night, wait til' it dries, or blow dry it, and then straighten it at night, so you don't have to get up as early or worry about being late to school
